Sept '19 Wonderful hotel
Great hotel and staff. Lovely location. Right by a charming canal. Very easy to get around town from hotel. Food very good at restaurant and pub would highly recommend this hotel. Bus from airport stops right outside hotel
Sept '19 A short stay, but a very nice experience!
This cozy boutique hotel was in a quiet location that was an easy walk to all of the sights and fun of Dublin. The bed was wonderfully comfortable and the atmosphere was charming. I did not get to experience the restaurant, but the bar was great! The hotel prepared a breakfast-to-go for us as we had an early departure, and Julian at the front desk was very quick to act when our airport shuttle didn't arrive on time, following through until we were on our way. Although we only stayed one night, we would happily return based on our experience
Aug '19 Quiet yet central
Lovely small hotel, very quiet at night despite a lively pub. Good breakfast, great location. Easy walk to plenty of sights, restaurants, and shops. Kind and very accommodating staff at front desk, in restaurant and pub. Great stay
Aug '19 Great little find
What a great little hotel this is, away from the hustle and bustle but easily in walking distance to everything Dublin has to offer. Reasonably priced with large rooms and breakfast included. Ate in the bar and the food was fantastic. Would recommend to anyone thinking of staying in Dublin
Aug '19 Lovely clean rooms, excellent location
Brilliant location, beautifully maintained and convenient to sights. Bar & restaurant have lovely food and excellent ambience/atmosphere. staff were so friendly and welcoming to us and our young son. Also lovely outdoor dining area
Jul '19 A wonderful place to stay!
This hotel was beautiful, quaint and very clean. The staff was very helpful. We were able to buy a Hop on-Hop off bus pass at the hotel and there was a stop very close to the hotel. We had dinner in the bar which was very nice and the food was delicious. I would highly recommend staying here
Jul '19
Fantastic location within walking distance of Grafton Street. Rooms very comfortable with everything you need (iron, water etc) staff very welcoming, breakfast was great with continental and cooked on offer. On site car park
June '19 Very comfortable and convenient
My husband and I stayed here for four nights at the beginning and end of our tour. The hotel is within walking distance of the train, city centre, the HOHO bus and many pubs and restaurants. The airport bus stops right there. The rooms were comfy and clean and the breakfasts were delicious. The staff was excellent in dealing with our large group
June '19 Intimate, small hotel large rooms, comfortable beds, and restaurant/pub.
Just a 10 minute walk from the Temple Bar, this small hotel features large rooms, comfortable beds and an adjacent restaurant/pub, all stitched together by a very attentive, friendly staff. Food was very good, whether breakfast, lunch or dinner. Extremely quiet at night for weary travelers looking for a restful night (such as flying in from America). Sits on a canal in a quiet, non-commercial neighborhood. Bar/restaurant is lively at night. Clean, very manageable and really good place to stay for the money.
June '19 Super comfortable beds and delicious breakfast!
My wife and I stayed here on 31st May 2019 - we were going to a concert in St. Annes Park so we were looking for somewhere near a Dart station, with parking. The Schoolhouse Hotel was great - we got parking right outside, the bed and pillows were so comfortable we had an amazing night's sleep, then woke to a really lovely breakfast. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Couldn't fault this place
May '19 Excellent again
We booked another stay in the Schoolhouse and again it proved to be excellent. To find such a good hotel in the centre of Dublin with parking is indeed a hidden gem. The staff couldn't be more helpful or friendlier, from the staff on reception to the bar and restaurant staff,
May ' 19 Great stay!
The hotel was really great. The staff was extremely helpful and very pleasant. They were willing to go out of their way to help and to answer questions. The room was very clean and very nicely decorated. I enjoyed my stay greatly and would consider staying there again
April' 19 Lovely Hotel
Stayed here for one night. Nice location for anyone attending concerts at Bord Gais Theatre or doing business in the Ballsbridge area.Tastefully decorated hotel within a building that’s over 200 years old. All rooms are named after Irish Poets / Writers or famous Dublin people. Rooms are spacious, clean & nicely decorated. The bar has a good choice of wines & beers, food looked lovely although we didn’t eat here. Great choice on the breakfast menu.Good WiFi.Small car park on site. All staff very friendly.Well worth a visit and we will definitely recommend the place
April ' 19 Beautiful hotel
I couldn't fault this hotel in any way. And I'm quite critical, its beautiful outside and inside. The staff are friendly and helpful, the food was top quality and delicious. The area is nice and quiet and the beds and pillows were really comfortable. Couldn't have been better actually
April '19 Conference lunch
I organised a conference lunch at the Schoolhouse Hotel Restaurant for a very large group, I met with the Events Executive, a week or so prior to let her know that we would only have one hour for lunch. I have to say the whole experience from start to finish was fantastic, nothing was too much trouble. Aoife, the chef and all the staff involved made the lunch service seem effortless and a relaxed event and the food was fantastic. The Group were very impressed with the building, history, decor and service. Thank you to you al
Mar'19 Visited with my grandson for an Ireland rugby match
He learned more about Irish historical figures than he would in a year of school and thought it was "great crack". Good rooms, good food, great service and lovely atmosphere/ambiance.
Mar '19 A week in Dublin
I recently spent a week in Schoolhouse Hotel and I want to thank all the staff. Either on phone and in person, they have been ready to help and make the whole experience a valuable one.  The hotel room was cosy and clean. Excellent restaurant and pub. I recommend this hotel and look forward to returning soon
Mar '19 What a charming, spacious, unique and lovely place to stay in Dublin.
The location is great - easy walking distance to major attractions, to the downtown or a stadium. Literally an old school converted to a hotel - the dining area, bar area - guest rooms and even the meeting rooms are all well-appointed, well -preserved, comfortable and at the same time - full of old-world ambience.
Feb '19 Charming
Everything from convenience of location to service, comfort and food were top notch! We travel to Dublin several times a year and will definitely be making The Schoolhouse Hotel our home away from home. Thanks to all the staff!! 💕🍀
Feb '19 Ireland Vs England
Very nice and laid back hotel. My husband and I came for the rugby match. Bar was totally jammed. However one member of staff caught my husband’s attention, I believe his name is Ryan. The way he was rocking that bar shows real professionalism. Even while being busy he still had time for to make everybody feel welcome. Hotel room was tidy and sophisticated. Top location for your necessities. Stadium was walking distance. 10/10 would definitely recommend Schoolhouse to anybody
Feb '19 Visit number six😃
We love this place. Beautiful boutique style hotel with a bar with a great atmosphere. We always feel so comfortable and welcome here. We come to Dublin a lot for concerts and this is ideally situated. We can walk to Grafton Street in 15 - 20 minutes and the 3 Arena in about 40 or less depending on the route.
There is always a warm welcome all the staff are lovely but a special big thank you to Siobhan who looks after mornings ( and breakfast) so well😃.
At food is very good too, but there are plenty of restaurants in easy walking distance if you want to venture out.
Well done Schoolhouse team, we’ll see you again very soon
Jan '19 Fantastic Hotel and Restaurant
Just love this hotel. I came to attend a show at RDS and find the Schoolhouse Hotel ideally situated. The bedrooms all have names of famous Irish people and are decorated in keeping with this building which is quite historic. No attention to detail is missed. Bedrooms have the most comfortable large beds. The bar and restaurant have locals coming and going along with residents and always leads to a great atmosphere.
Staff are so welcoming at reception and friendly throughout. Meals available in bar and restaurant are really good. Not disappointed with breakfast which is help yourself buffet along with "full Irish".Hotel is ideally situated between RDS and Dublin City centre with
c15 min lovely walk to RDS and c20 minutes walk to city. I look forward to my next visit.
Jan '19 Return visit and still great
Have stayed at this hotel on a few occasions and have always been well received. Have booked direct with hotel and have been more than happy with rate etc. The hotel is small compared to main chain type multi floor establishments but you gain a friendly, customer focused staff you do go that bit extra. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and the quality of produce used was of a high standard. The proximity of the hotel is great and provides you with a 15 min walk to the RDS or around 20 mins to city centre and encountered no difficulties walking in the area at night
Jan '19 A gem of a place
We came to see a show at the Bord Gais and this spot was perfect. Small, friendly, good food, great atmosphere, reasonsbly priced, central location. We will be back. 👍 I was on crutches at the time and everything was accessible. Staff very helpful.
Lovely stay and wonderful service
We’ve stayed in the schoolhouse hotel for 4 nights and loved every bit of it. The hotel is completely in old Irish style and includes a nice restaurant and even a full Irish pub.

Dec '18 Lovely stay and wonderful service
We’ve stayed in the schoolhouse hotel for 4 nights and loved every bit of it. The hotel is completely in old Irish style and includes a nice restaurant and even a full Irish pub.
When arriving at the hotel we noticed that one of us lost their ID card. Luckily, the manager of this hotel immediately came to the rescue. Not only could he tell us where we could find the embassy, he also arranged a meeting for the next morning so that we didn’t have to worry about this anymore. It’s clear that this hotel offers a kind of service that’s hard to find these days
Dec '18 Quaint little hotel with lots of charm
Very cute hotel, beds extremely comfortable and room quite spacious. Service was good. The location was great, very near most things of interest to us. The shower was fabulous, and the hotel was clean. We didn't have food so I can't speak on that but the restaurant looked very lovely and had a nice menu
Dec '18 Another lovely visit
Stayed for 2 nights in December . Great cosy hotel . Bar food great and staff brilliant especially Isobella from Brazil who was always efficient and smiling . Great breakfast and rooms spotless . Thanks to all the staff for their hard work . Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all !!
Nov '18 Top of the class
Spent one night here and thoroughly enjoyed it. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The bar has a relaxed atmosphere and a good menu of bar snacks. Breakfast was good value with a very wide choice and was really tasty. Definitely plan to stay here again on our next visit to Dublin.
Nov '18 Great hotel
Schoolhouse Hotel, Room 217, this was a great room, very roomy, clean, and it had a sitting area. There was a very nice bathroom and the bed was comfortable. The hotel was within reasonable walking distance of central Dublin, and it is on the Aircoach route to/from the airport. The breakfast was very good, and you could also get supper in the restaurant. Highly recommend.
October 18 - Perfect accommodations
Stayed for 2 nights while in Dublin. Friendly staff, amazing breakfast included in room rate and free parking in close walking distance to major popular destinations in Dublin. Room was very cozy and comfortable.
October 18 - So charming!
What a great way to start a Dublin holiday. If you are a person who likes chain hotels with zero personality, this place is not for you. But if you like a heaping helping of charm, history, and hospitality, look no further. We were lucky enough to be booked into a room in the round tower--how cool is that? Little bits of history everywhere you look. Delightful touches like period wallpaper, bios of famous teachers and alumni, super comfy rooms, and did I mention the breakfast? The Irish breakfast kept us going until well into the afternoon. Staff was friendly and helpful. Loved this place
September - Location
I stayed at the schoolhouse years ago and decided to give it another try. It was as I remembered. Excellent. Rooms are good size. The staff are friendly and very helpful. Location is within walking distance to many sights and great restaurants. It is worth every penny.
September - Overnight stay
Stayed here as a birthday present for my husband that included a trip to the gaiety. This is a Beautiful hotel, fantastic location, with complementary parking which is incredible for somewhere so close to the city. Really lovely breakfast where the staff are extremely friendly and helpful, will definitely be back again. This is a real little find for a city centre hotel and would highly recommend to anyone visiting Dublin for a stay.
September - Charming hotel in convenient location
We stayed in Schoolhouse hotel for 6 nights. Excellent service, lovely large rooms, very clean. The hotel has old world charm with modern convenience. It is located in residential area, so it is very quiet, but it is also very close to downtown 10-15 min of pleasant walk
August 18 - As good as the Guinness
My wife and I were Dublin several days before a wedding we were attending in Sligo and again briefly afterwards. On both occasions the staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious and impeccable clean upon arrival and each day after.
The location is excellent for walking, bus connections (including an airport bus pick up and drop off immediately across the street),siteseeing, etc.
A wonderful hotel experience in very upscale part of Dublin city
August 18 - Lovely restored historical building
We started our Ireland journey in Dublin and enjoyed the quiet of this hotel. The rooms were large, comfortable and easy to access. The bar food was excellent and the breakfast menu would satisfy all appetites. We were greeted warmly by the front desk people and those who staffed the dining area. We required taxi transportation to and from the major sight seeing sites and the Hop on Hop Off bus was a special treat ... with a singing guide!
August 18 - Fantastic experience
Staff is so professional, welcoming and polite. The service was excellent and the food was perfect!!!
We had a three course dinner on friday evening, we were able to have a nice long conversation over good few drinks.
Very good place for romantic dinner.
August 18 - Wonderful hotel and staff
I can’t recommend this hotel highly enough. The place looks amazing, very old worldly. The staff, restaurant and bar are first class. Very close to the aviva and only a short walk to the city centre. Will definitely be back!!
July 18 - Third time as good as first time
Great stay again at this really well located hotel with unique features being an old school. Really good service and food at the hotel and we would recommend it again due to the great customer experience and location
July 18 - A great first night stay in Ireland
We reserved two rooms as a family of four adults for one night. It was perfect for us. We enjoyed the outside dining for an early afternoon snack and beer. We chose to taxi to the Guinness Brewery which we enjoyed very much. We walked back stopping for dinner on the way. The Schoolhouse rooms carried the theme of the buliding’s era very well and things were very clean. We would return again.
June 18 - Long weekend in lovely Dublin
Nice quiet original hotel Lovely room with great bed Tasty breakfast Nice bar and restaurant with good variety in menu 15 walk from downtown Airport transfer bus in front the hotel Very helpfully staff in hotel and restaurant
June 18 - Charming hotel
This is an old schoolhouse that has been well cared for. Beds were very comfortable, pub was fun, food was good. Most importantly, all staff couldn’t have been nicer and all extremely helpful. Location is a 20 to 25 minute walk to Trinity College and grafton street, on bus route to and from airport got dropped off at hotel, a ten minute walk to Dart.. Highly recommend this quaint hotel. They really put there best foot forward to accommodate guests
May 18 - Another great visit
As always our stay at the Schoolhouse was faultless. Our room was spotless and ready when we arrived at 12.30pm. We had a tasty lunch in the bar, with good service. Leisurely breakfast this morning was great value and I can highly recommend the porridge Looking forward to our next visit already.
May 18 - Beautiful Place
This place was great. The rooms were so clean and spacious. The staff were amazing and so friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. The beds were Super kingsize and very comfortable. I would certainly stay here every time when visiting Dublin. The place is conveniently located to the town centre and the airport bus drops you off right outside the hotel
April 18 -Great Location, Great Hotel
We've just returned from our 3rd visit to the Schoolhouse and as usual it was excellent. The location of this little gem of a hotel is great, a 20 minute walk and you're in Nassau Street, Grafton Street and Trinity College. If you don't fancy the walk there is a very good bus service but to be honest you're quicker walking! The menu had changed since our last visit and some of our favourite dishes have gone but only to be replaced by equally yummy food. No matter whether you eat in the bar or canteen (restaurant) the food is beautifully prepared and presented. The guys and gals in the Schoolhouse are so
friendly and helpful nothing is too much trouble. We will definitely be back for our 4th visit next year
March 18 - “Great location, clean warm room. Very comfy bed. Lovely bar"
March 18 -This is like an old country hotel, right in the city centre, with giant beds and excellent food, at extremely reasonable rates. Staff are charming and helpful, there's wifi and parking, and everything was scrupulously clean. Can't wait to go back.

Feb 18 - Dublin gem!
Stayed here last night as we were attending a concert at the Bord Gais Theatre. Receptionist was very friendly and helpful and rooms were spacious and very comfortable. We ate in their restaurant and food and service were excellent.
I can only describe this hotel as a hidden gem in Dublin and I would highly recommend a stay!
Feb 18 - Really comfy bed and super cosy room. Felt like a princess! Great staff who were friendly and helpful, and beautiful building.”
Feb 18 - “Great location - easy walking distance to city centre. Room was huge, but cosy and very quiet for a city hotel. The hotel bar is a proper pub and a great place for drinks and food. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble
Jan 18 - Charming hotel near Dublin’s business district
Fabulous little hotel, really old-fashioned and with a genuine charm. I was on a short visit for work, and was allowed to check into my spacious room well ahead of the regular check-in time. I popped into the bar for a glass of wine, and it had a great buzz to it.
Good water pressure in the shower to wake me up in the morning, and a really good breakfast followed, cooked to order. It’s a good price - Dublin can be so expensive - and I would certainly go back.

Jan 18 - Relax at Schoolhouse Hotel
We loved the Schoolhouse Hotel in Dublin. My first visit to Dublin and this Hotel staff checked us right in after our long flight from Colorado. The room was large and comfortable. Breakfast the next morning was excellent. We were able to walk to the nearby park and up and down quaint streets over to Trinity college. We didn't have a car, but there was small parking lot available. Yes definitely stay here if you can

Dec 17 - Very Good. Booked for the Rugby
I stayed here on a business trip to Dublin and Limerick. This hotel was recommended to me by a colleague who stays regularly.
I enjoyed the nice comfy room and a big bowl of tasty mussels and chips with a couple of pints of Irish Pale Ale in the bar with the football on tv. Breakfast was good too.
I have booked for the rugby in February but I may well be back before then
Nov '17 - Can’t help it- keep coming back😃
We love this place! We have stayed here 4 times now and it never disappoints. Always friendly, comfortable, good food in the bar. It feels like coming home every time we visit. What more can I say- lovely, lovely, lovel
Oct '17 -  Hidden Gem
Excellently appointed, small cozy hotel. Rooms were a nice size with extremely comfortable king size beds. Great restaurant/pub. My husband ordered the oysters; they were huge and very nicely presented. Not too far from Trinity College, about a mile walking distance.

Oct '17 - Amazing Staff
We love coming here. Staff never fail to impress. We are already looking forward to our return visit, hopefully before Christmas. Try the food in the restaurant while you are there. The setting is just perfect
Oct 17 - Great hotel with quiet location
The Schoolhouse Hotel is a very easy bus ride from the airport. It is a lovely and charming hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Its location is perfect, in a quiet end of town yet easily walkable to Dublin attractions. There are many restaurants and eateries close by. We ate both in the main dining room and the bar, and both were quite good. Breakfast was also delicious, with both a full cold and hot selection. The staff was very helpful while we were there
Sept '17 - Charming hotel
The hotel staff were helpful and friendly. The transformation from a schoolhouse to a craftsman style hotel was thoughtfully and beautifully realized. The rooms are large, comfortable and cozy. The bathroom was very charming. The  breakfast was well worth it -- there are many delicious choices. Dinner at the restaurant and drinks at the bar were also excellent. The location is an easily walkable distance to downtown Dublin
Sept '17 -Exactly as I had imagined!
I had planned this stay for years, having saved the Schoolhouse Hotel on my favorites. We rode the train up from Killarney and should have taken a cab, yet jumped on a bus. We did have a wonderful, exciting tour through the city, but a cab would have been quicker. The hotel is beautiful. The restaurant, gorgeous. Breakfast was phenomenal! We were there for the Laya Healthcare City Spectacular and walked to Merrion Park from the hotel. It was a short distance to the city center and seemingly, a world away. The staff was exceptional
Bitler, Newport Beach, CA (Tripadvisor) –
We used reviews from TripAdvisor to choose this lovely small hotel. It was the highlight of our trip.”

Anfieldboy, Galway, Ireland (Tripadvisor) –
“Location is excellent with only a 15 minute walk to Grafton St and 10 minute walk to Ballsbridge so very central for rugby (Aviva), concerts (RDS), shows (Bord Gais Theatre) and shopping (city centre).”

dieStPaul_MN, Brooklyn, New York (Tripadvisor) -
“This is a European style hotel (31 rooms), but rooms were far more spacious than typically is the case in Europe, the bathroom large, with shower and tub, and good water pressure; good wi-fi; coffee maker, free bottled water.”
August 2017 -Ideal City Break
We spent two nights at the Schoolhouse Hotel and soon discovered we made the right choice. The hotel has charm & character by the bucket! The rooms had all that we required, bottles of water, tea/coffee & biscuits and an excellent multi-media tv - (we didn't need a fridge!) We ate at the bar one night and the food and service were excellent. The breakfasts too were plentiful & I enjoyed one of the best Irish Fry ever. The hotel is in great location - just far enough away from the noise & bustle of the city centre but within an easy walk to the Temple Bar area, Aviva Stadium and the Bord Gais theatre. All in all a lovely little hotel and so different from the 'bland' chain hotels.
August 2017 - First visit to Dublin
Very helpful and engaging staff. Quaint accommodations with historical ties. Easy walk to central district. A great pub within the hotel. Highly recommend and would return if we ever go back to Ireland.
European style, with American style amenities
We stayed at the Schoolhouse for five nights August, 2017. In terms of location, in choosing this hotel, you choose quiet over a central location. It takes 20-25 minutes to walk from the hotel to tourist information and Trinity College on the south bank of the Liffey; the walk is simple, straight. passing Merrion Square and park(with a statue of Oscar Wilde) and the distinguished Georgian houses--so a pleasant walk. There is a bus as well. This is a European style hotel (31 rooms), but rooms were far more spacious than typically is the case in Europe, the bathroom large, with shower and tub, and good water pressure; good wi-fi; coffee maker, free bottled water. For breakfast you can choose from full traditional Irish (eggs, sausage, bacon black pudding, mushroom tomato), vegetarian version of same, lox and eggs, porridge, pancakes, etc.. The buffet has fresh, delicious pastries, dry cereal, fruit, juices, etc. We ate dinner very well and at reasonable expense twice at the restaurant. Service throughout was excellent
July 2017 - Lovely Hotel
The Schoolhouse Hotel is a first class option for enjoying all that Dublin has to offer while still having a quiet little oasis to retire for the evening. Our room, the formers chambers of the school's headmaster, was nicely appointed with a big, comfortable bed. If the option presents, we will be happy to return to this historic gem
July 2017 - Quaint hotel near heart of Dublin
We spent one night here at the end of a biking tour. Hotel is very quaint and we enjoyed a delicious lunch on the day of our arrival. Bar is great too. Hotel is about a mile walk to the "heart" of the shopping/restaurant district in Dublin. We enjoyed this distance as the hotel was nice and quiet but others may prefer something closer. We left the next morning for the airport before breakfast was served
July 2017 -What a wonderful place to stay - great for the Aviva Stadium too!!
My wife and I stayed there overnight recently and the room was lovely. Well decorated with a nostalgic feel, as was the bathroom which also had a great shower over the bath.
The bed was large and very soft/comfortable and the breakfast was perfect too.
Whilst we didn't have dinner there (as we were out at a concert) we did have a bar meal in the shady garden (which was welcome as the temp was in the upper 20s) which was also spot on. The staff were helpful and knowledgeable, I'd thoroughly recommend the place!!
June 2017 - Peaceful Hidden Gem
Helpful staff, good food, great location. Bed was so comfy we fell asleep and nearly missed our dinner before our show . Room was so quiet and dark at night it was lovely. A real gem and I will be recommending it to my friends and family
June 2017 - Exceptional
We stayed overnight on Wednesday...quaint,comfortable and very reasonable.we ate lunch on the outside was yummy and staff were very attentive..!!its people like her that make you return time after time...we will be back!
May 2017 -Beautiful and comfortable hotel
Loved the hotel's William Morris style decor - very beautiful old building. Very comfy kingsize bed, very clean. Excellent customer service from the desk receptionist - also on the telephone when I called ahead to ask about transport from the airport. (The Aircoach from Dublin Airport stops right at the hotel so there is no difficulty at all). We had the Early Bird special which includes breakfast so we enjoyed the breakfast as well and the service in the restaurant. The location is convenient for walking into the centre as it doesn't take long till you are at Merrion Square
May 2017 -Perfect city break location
We stayed here for the first time last weekend while heading to a concert in the 3Arena. The staff that we encountered were friendly. It's in a perfect location as it's close to the Dart, on a bus route and a pleasant short walk to Grafton St. The beds were amazing!!!!!
May 2017- Fabulous place in Dublin !
Loved staying here
Very quiet location ten minutes walk from center with free parking for our rental car
Brilliant breakfast and so accommodating when we left. They let us in at 6.45am to order breakfast when their hours started at 7am
Manager was great, very helpful
Definitely stay here again :)
April 2017- "Beautiful hotel, a perfect choice, couldn't be happier"
“Beautiful hotel, a perfect choice, couldn't be happier!”
I spent a long time choosing a hotel in Dublin and decided on the Schoolhouse because it was small and looked full of character. What an excellent choice it was! This hotel is lovely in every way. The location is great, away from the busy areas, yet only a 15 minute walk to Temple Bar and other major attractions. Our room was large and comfortable with a huge bed. Breakfast was fantastic with plenty of choice. We ate in the restaurant and in the bar; the food was delicious. We caught the aircoach from Dublin Airport which very conveniently drops you at the hotel and picks up across the road from the hotel on your return. A brilliant hotel, beautifully renovated, I would highly recommend it
March 2017- Fabalous
Very good location; just 15 minutes' walk from Grafton Street. Pleasant atmosphere, friendly, helpful staff and great food in the bar/bistro area
March 2017 - Great location, friendly staff, comfortable rooms with history attached
This hotel is in a great location with easy access to the city. The staff are very helpful and the bedrooms are quirky in that they each have a history lesson for you. They are also comfortable and spacious. The bar and restaurant attached are convenient with a great buzz. Breakfast was really good too. I will definitely stay here again
February 2017 - Fantastic
Fantastic gem of a hotel with a gorgeous cosy bar area and fab Irish music, lovely atmosphere yet very quiet at night which was great. Caught air coach on way back to airport stops right outside hotel which was great and a lot cheaper than a cab”
February 2017
Really nice, cosy, charming hotel. Also, well located. The breakfast was great, one should definitely book the rooms with it included! We loved that there was not only a Restaurant but also a really cool Pub next door!”
February 2017 - Will Come Again
This is our second time staying. We returned as we had such a good first experience. Our second stay was equally good. Customer service is top class from the person at reception to the bar staff and restaurant staff. All made you feel welcome. They must enjoy working there because they looked happy and that was reflected in the way we were treated. What we enjoyed about the room was the king size bed, a luxury. The hotel is old wordly so I dont expect everything to be perfect so will not be nit picking. Location is excellent with only a 15 minute walk to Grafton St and 10 minute walk to Ballsbridge so very central for rugby (Aviva), concerts (RDS), shows (Bord Gais Theatre) and shopping (city centre). The main ingredients were there and so we left feeling relaxed and wanting to come back again which we hope to do soon!
February 2017 - Gorgeous Hotel
Well what can I say, this hotel is just superb, the rooms, the food, I just cannot fault it at all. We had dinner in the bar & it was superb, I can only imagine what the actual restaurant food is like if the bar food is that good. The rooms where spotless & not your typical hotel room, which I love, the bed was unbelievably comfortable & that coming from me is the highest compliment as I usually find it very difficult to sleep when I go away, but not this time. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel & i will definitely be back. Thank you to all at the SchoolHouse for a fabulous stay!!

14th September 2016 - Essexposhtart - 'School Days'
A lovely Hotel in a lovely location right by the Canal. Nice quiet area about 10-15 minutes walk from the City Centre. Hotel is very clean in the rooms and the public areas. Nice breakfast although how its priced on the menu leaves one a little confused!! The staff are very efficient and friendly and nothing appears too much trouble. Apart from breakfast we ate in the Hotel twice. Lunch the first day of our arrival and dinner on our last evening. Both superb and plenty of it. All in all a very nice Hotel.
12th September 2016 - Maura - A Really 1st Class Function'
I attended a 60th birthday function which included pre drinks and a sit down 3 course dinner at this restaurant/hotel. It was excellent in every way. The staff were very friendly and the food was amazing. It was so professional catered for and the service was great. I would very much recommend this restaurant.
12th September 2016 - WWeatherly - 'First Night in Ireland
We arrived in early afternoon for our stay at the Schoolhouse Hotel. The parking was easily found and quite large. Careful when entering the parking area as the entrance is narrow, especially if you are new to driving in a right-hand rental care. The accommodations were excellent with a warm feel to them. The restaurant was very nice, could have been a chapel at the school at one time. We ate dinner and breakfast there and the food was perfect. a bar was located next to the restaurant and it was well appointed with a very nice crowd that frequented there. The hotel has air conditioning which I found out in my travels around Ireland isn't always available. I would have loved to have stayed longer at the Schoolhouse but we had plans to circumnavigate the lower portion of Ireland. We reluctantly departed the Schoolhouse but will be back again! We would highly recommend this hotel.

8th September 2016 - Liz Bennett - 'Splendid Spot'
We were drawn to the Schoolhouse Hotel by the look of its charm, and its location (close in to City Center, but tucked in off the Canal). From the moment we arrived, Rory at the front desk was wonderful! So helpful initially and throughout our stay with useful information, charm and wit. Highly recommend this spot. Food excellent. We travel once/year to Ireland, and this will be our new Dublin spot. (One minor nitpick: the "ironing" appliance is really awkward to use - feels like it's leftover from the 1950's.)

It was indeed a former schoolhouse. Very quaint and lovely. Close to town center and places to eat. Very quiet, rooms are spacious. Food in the pub is excellent! Many taps as well. Breakfast was very good. Excellent continental spread as well as menu'd hot items as well.
